What is Reiki?

Reiki (ray'-kee) is a non-invasive way to balance and strengthen your energy and treat any physical or emotional condition. It leaves you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, and is often used to help increase the effectiveness of other traditional or holistic healing modalities.

A typical Reiki session would have you lie on a table, fully clothed with your shoes off, covered by a sheet or blanket. The Reiki practitioner will start with placing their hands near your head. After awhile, the practitioner will proceed to move down your body, with their hands just above the sheet, stopping over different areas to allow the Reiki energy to balance and strengthen that part of your body. When the practitioner is done with the front of you, they will gently prompt you to turn over onto your belly. Once you are comfortable, you will again be covered with a sheet or blanket. The Reiki practitioner will start at your head, placing their hands just above your head and then move down your spine, allowing the Reiki to balance and energize you. A typical session lasts 45 minutes to one hour. After your session you will feel relaxed and energized.
